Grammy Award-winning rapper Gunna is currently touring North America on his Wun World Tour, and he’s bringing his travelling run club along for the ride.
On Monday, Nov. 24, Gunna, in partnership with Under Armour, will host a 5K race at Toronto’s Exhibition Place. For US$75, participants can run alongside the rapper and take part in what Gunna’s team describes as “a cultural movement that blends performance, style and community,” just hours before he performs at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

All participants will receive an exclusive Gunna Run t‑shirt, bib and running towel. Instead of traditional race medals, in hip-hop fashion, all finishers will be awarded metal chains and can celebrate their 5K with a photo with the chain in front of the Wunna Run backdrop.
All of Gunna’s events are tied to philanthropy. Proceeds from his 5K race will support the Great Giveaway Foundation, the Atlanta-based nonprofit Gunna founded to uplift underserved communities through service projects, donations and programs for families in need. He launched the Wunna Run Club earlier this fall with a 5K in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park with NYC Runs, drawing more than 1,000 runners.
In response to the high interest, he and Under Armour are now expanding the series to seven North American cities, including Toronto.
Under Armour says its collaboration with the rapper’s event reinforces the brand’s goal of inspiring more people to get moving and bringing communities together through running.
Gunna’s own running journey began unexpectedly. In a 2024 Men’s Health interview, he said he started running nearly every day after being released from jail in 2022 on racketeering charges, describing running as a cornerstone of his “physical and mental transformation.” Last year, on Spotify’s Music podcast, he even shared ambitions of running a marathon (though he hasn’t tackled one yet). Fans have spotted him on social media logging miles in L.A.’s Runyon Canyon, which also appears in his music video for his hit song “WONT STOP.”
Gunna isn’t the first Grammy-nominated artist to dive into the running scene. In 2024, American electronic DJ and producer Diplo launched his own travelling run club and concert series, which has since expanded to nearly a dozen U.S. cities, but hasn’t yet come to Canada.
As of Friday morning, there’s still space to sign up for a one-of-a-kind running event on Monday at 9 a.m. Visit this link to find more details about the event and registration.
