The 2025 Squamish 50 in Squamish, B.C. was one to remember for North Vancouver’s Alexandre Campbell, who tackled both the 50-mile and 50K events and decisively stamped his name in the record books. Campbell won Saturday’s 50-mile event by 35 minutes, clocking 7:39:26, and even with a fifth-place finish in Sunday’s 50K (5:06:19), his combined time of 12 hours, 45 minutes and 44 seconds smashed the previous mark–set 11 years ago–by nearly an hour.

On the women’s side, Langley, B.C.’s ultra star Jade Belzberg defended her 50K title in 5:08:59, shaving seven minutes off her own course record.
The previous men’s 50/50 course record of 13:45:10 had stood untouched since being set by American ultrarunner Michael Wardian in 2014. Campbell’s performance improves on his previous second and third place finishes from 2024 and 2023, respectively; the overall time outperforms the rest of the field by more than an hour and betters his own best time, 14:07:07 (from 2024), by more than 80 minutes.
Squamish’s own John Dean, the 2023 champion, took second on the 50/50 overall podium in 13:55:30, while Golden, Colo.’s Seth Wealing rounded out the podium in 14:36:39.
