Ceili McCabe: Canada’s newest queen of cross country
After missing the track season due to injury, McCabe bounced back to win the XC Nationals and now leads a strong Canadian team into next month’s World Championships
After missing most of the 2025 season, Ceili McCabe returned in style this past weekend at the 2025 Canadian Cross Country Championships in London, Ont., delivering a masterclass performance in the women’s 10K.
The Canadian Olympian and steeplechase record holder broke away from the field from the gun, and never looked back, running nearly a minute clear of the competition to claim her second ACXC title in three years and remove any doubt as to whether she was back to her pre-injury form.
